By the end of the course, you should be able to:
Clearly articulate the legislative framework that surrounds listed buildings and how that translates to conservation best practice
Work practically, but boldly, within that framework, balancing safety, preservation of building fabric and best outcomes for clients
Discuss the opportunities and risks of, sometimes fragile, buildings with clients and design teams
Justify straightforward repairs, strengthening and replacements and also identify when a significant intervention might be appropriate and how and when such a move can be justified
Consider whether you should apply for Conservation Accreditation and feel confident about the steps needed
