This half-day course is designed to help early career structural engineers develop a better understanding of geotechnical engineering and use that knowledge to enhance and promote sustainable design.

The course encourages effective collaboration with geotechnical engineers by explaining how below-ground risks are identified and investigated, leading on to an overview of shallow and piled foundation design.

Trainer

Tom is a partner and geotechnical discipline lead at CampbellReith with broad experience in a diverse variety of sectors including education, residential, life sciences, commercial, energy, highways, rail and maritime.

Tom regularly works within and leads multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions to engineering challenges.

He is well experienced in the detailed design of foundations, geotechnical structures, retaining walls, strengthened earthworks, ground investigation and earthworks.
