Instead of the Annual Dinner, the Institution of Structural Engineers held this year a Luncheon at the Dorchester Hotel, London, W., on Friday, 25th April, when 300 members and guests were present. The Principal Guest was the Rt. Hon. Arthur Greenwood, P.C., M.P., Minister withtout Portfolio, who proposed the toast of "The Institution of Structural Engineers,” coupled with the name of the President, Mr. J. F. Butler, A.M.Inst.C.E., whose speech in response is given below. The President-elect, Mr. W. K. Wallace, M.Inst.C.E., proposed the toast of "The Guests," and the response was mode by Mr. George Hicks, M.P., Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings.
