In perusing the very interesting contribution to the study of pre-stressed concrete from Dr. R. H. Evans and Mr. G. WiIson, in the August 1942 issue of The Structural Engineer, a few facts should be kept in mind.
THE PRESIDENT (Mr. W. K. Wallace, M.Inst.C.E., M.I.Struct.E.) described the paper as unique; and congratulated Mr. Snow on the able manner in which he had presented it.
Professor M. R. Home (Vice-President) (Simon Engineering Laboratories, University of Manchester): The author’s presentation is of interest, but fails to mention a number of factors that could be of considerable importance for some frames. Some of these factors significantly affect the validity of the analytical procedure proposed.
