The Codes of Practice Committee which was established in December, 1942, as the result of negotiations initiated by the Ministry of Works in consultation with the Ministry of Health and other Government Departments handed over to the Institution of Structural Engineers the preparation of some of the contemplated Codes, particularly those that related to the Engineering in Buildings.
