Bate: ' Mr. Teychennd has referred in the text and in Table 1 to the margin between the mean strength of concrete and the level of strength used for design, and to the way in which this has varied through recent Codes. I would like to take the comparison further and consider these changes with respect to safety against collapse due to failure of concrete. '
