This paper gives the history of the utilization of ground stabilization techniques for the economic low-rise housing development of the City of Glasgow. It also discusses a semi-empirical approach to the design of ground stabilization works and presents long-term settlement records for three- to fivc-storey blocks of flats founded on stabilized ground.
