The design and construction of a cable-stayed steel roof for the 32 m cantilever structures over Yishun Indoor Stadium & Sports Complex - the first of its kind in Singapore - are described. The design philosophy, structural concept, structural modelling, and method of analysis are discussed. The design and construction of key structural elements such as the cable, steel mast, A-frame, truss and their structural behaviour are described in detail. The method of construction, connection, anchorage and prestressing of cables are highlighted. Dynamic analysis was carried out to determine and confirm the adequacy of structural design against dynamic loads, and the result is briefly discussed.

Pushout Strength of Concrete-Filled Steel Hollow Sections
Pushout tests have been carried out on 40 short, concrete-filled steel hollow section tubes. Rectangular, square and circular sections were used in this experimental programme. Sixteen of the specimens were 450mm long, and the steel-concrete interfaces about 400mm long. These specimens were tested with and without the use of grade 4.6 black bolts as mechanical shear connectors. The rest of the tested specimens were of variable lengths, and their steel-concrete inte$ace was approximately 200, 400, or 600mm long.
