Guidance for structural engineers on the use of structural and semi-structural adhesives (with a polymetric matrix) and the behaviour of adhesive joints used in structural applications.

This guide introduces structural engineers, manufacturers, suppliers and contractors, with little or no knowledge of adhesives and the behaviour of adhesive joints, to the range of applications. It will help the engineer carry out preliminary designs and prepare outline specifications. Coverage is confined to those adhesives with a polymetric matrix used in structural applications; cementitious materials are not covered. There is an emphasis on connections between structural elements, rather than where adhesives are used as an integral part of the structure, such as glued laminated timber (glulam) or plywood.
