This year’s event was a great success with over 200 people attending.
Michael Kilpatrick, Regional Group Chair, welcomed all and then Stephanie Beglin described the work of her charity, Ronald McDonald’s House Glasgow - the Scottish Regional Group's selected charity for 2019.
The independent local charity supports the families of children staying in hospital by providing free, high quality ‘home away from home’ accommodation for as long as their child is receiving treatment.
The charity was delighted with the amount raised on the evening. Stephanie said:
“I would like to say a HUGE thank you on behalf of everyone here at Ronald McDonald House Glasgow for inviting us along on Friday night to your spectacular event, we had such a lovely time, not to mention the incredible amount we raised: £1,504.50!"
After a delicious meal, IStructE President, Joe Kindregan gave an insightful and thought-provoking speech.
Joe then awarded the certificates and prizes to our newly Chartered Members and student prize winners…..then the much-anticipated raffle, Darren Bryne assisted with the raffle and delight was expressed around the room as prizes were handed out!
The evening finished off with music and dancing – a great evening enjoyed by all!
