Congratulations to the winner of the 2024 Young Structural Engineering Professional Award

The Young Structural Engineering Professional Award is an internationally recognised mark of acheivement that showcases young engineers who are driving the profession foward. Being a recipient of the award means that they have demonstrated the skills and achievements necessary to mark them out as the "one to watch" among the Institution's global membership.

After an extensive judging process, we are please to announce the winner for 2024 as well as our runners up. 
The judging panel narrowed down all the entries to a final six, which also included Akos Medek, Arij Mroue, Claire Young, Eugenie Sentucq, Lingyu Miao and Nimh McCloskey. All finalists were of excellent standard and show great promise for the future of engineering.

After a rigerous interview process, the judges narrowed this down our winner, Claire Young. Claire impressed judges with her leadership skills, technical ability and her commitement to sustainability. 

The runner up prize was awarded to Lingyu Miao. With a clear passion for structural engineering and showcasing technical excellence, Lingyu is a worthy runner up. 

For the first time in the history of this award, the judging panel also decided to award a commendation for Niamh McCloskey and her commitment to sustainability. With a strong passion for sustainability and her industry engagement, Niamh is excelling in driving forward a sustainable focus in structural engineering.
