The executive summary from a 2020 Research Award winning project.

The project aimed to establish whether new CSA based powdered accelerators can provide the setting and early age strength development required when sprayed concrete contains GGBS at a replacement level of between 70% and 80% and to evaluate the impact on the durability of the resultant sprayed concrete.

This project was a collaboration between Professor Chris Goodier, Professor Sergio Cavalaro and Zhi Hu of Loughborough University; Michael Sataya of Ove Arup and Partners International Ltd; Dr Chris Peaston of Peaston Concrete Consultancy; John Reddy of Ecocem; and Stuart Manning of Shotcrete Services Ltd.
