This annual update provides an overview of the ongoing work from two fib commissions.

fib: what’s happening? is organised by the UK Group of fib (The International Federation for Structural Concrete). The commissions instigate research on structural concrete and publish industry guidance that goes beyond what established codes can offer. Designers, contractors, academics and clients will gain an understanding of the latest fib developments.

Expert speakers cover what's happening on:

  • Commission 1: Concrete Structures - Andy Truby, Director, TrubyStevenson Ltd
    • An overview of recent Commission 1 activities
    • Details of Commission 1 membership and task groups
    • Spotlight on recently completed publications, and those that are underway

  • Commission 4: Concrete and Concrete Technology - Frank Dehn, Professor of Building Materials and Concrete Construction, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
    • A summary of recent Commission 4 activities
    • An overview of new Commission 4 bulletins, content and task groups
    • Discussion of how Commission 4 contributes to MC 2020
