Structural vibrations

Dr Mann discusses types of structural vibration and their causes, the implications on performance, and how they can be suppressed.

The talk is targeted at any engineer who wishes to gain an understanding without involving any complex mathematics. {Speaker} Allan has had a career spanning 50 years in structural engineering, working in many industry sectors. For many years he has been active within the Institution at Branch and HQ level serving on the Editorial, Prizes and Health and Safety Committees, also assisting SCOSS and CROSS. He has published many papers and received a number of prizes including the Institution’s Gold Medal in 2011.
