The rebuilding of the British Embassy in Rome presented an opportunity for British consultants to work in another European country and to compare the skills and techniques of the two building industries. This paper outlines the organisation of building design in Italy. It describes the design and analysis of the Embassy building and some of the problems encountered during construction.
This paper describes the planning and construction of the various buildings and structures forming the steelworking facilities backing up the shipbuilding operations
in the new shipbuilding dock at the famous Harland and Wolffs shipyard on Queen's Island,..Belfast. A general description of the various production Operations is given
throughout the text. The design conception and the solutions adopted for the vast new buildings is discussed, and a description of the main construction and erection methods is given.
