Getting involved in sustainable design

About the speakers

Andy Yates
Andy is a founding director at Webb Yates Engineers, an innovative, multidisciplinary engineering practice which has won numerous awards for its work. He has worked extensively in the aviation sector successfully delivering a wide range of complex new build and refurbishment projects as well as delivering several prestigious sports and community projects. Andy was the Chair of the IStructE Task Group responsible for the Structural Plan of Work 2020.

Ed Clark
Ed is a Director and Group Leader within Arup London’s multidisciplinary Building Engineering Team. He is passionate about the concept of ‘total design’ and believes an integrated and truly holistic approach leads to improved quality and economy. He is committed to the ongoing improvement and evolution of engineering techniques and the sharing of knowledge, as such is heavily involved in research activities relating to design optimisation, modern methods of construction, and the development of new and sustainable structural materials.
